| Summary | 0000818: [BFX-AT100] if exit before setting UHD color on SEC TV in HDMI hotplug , STB is changed as disabled HDR forcibly. | ||||
| Description | Hi kerwin we had tested with several SEC TV model for HDMI compatible test in SEC TV. Most of SEC tv, if exit before setting UHD color on SEC TV in HDMI Hotplug (see a picture(setting UHD color) , STB is changed as disabled HDR forcibly. Case 1. (Most of SEC TV) 0. STB menu set as HDR enable. 1. SEE CH 73. 2. HDMI cable detach / attach. 3. TV checking Input source ( take a time (3~5 sec. depend on TV model). 4. exit button of TV. ( if finish 3 step, TV will be shown a setting menu for UHD color) 5. see AV. but STB menu is changed as Disabled HDR automatically. Case 2. (TV model: UN43NU7150) 0. STB menu set as HDR enable. 1. See CH73. 2. HDMI detach / attach. 3. see a setting menu for UHD color. ( take 1s, omit a screen which is checking input source ) 4. see AV. STB menu is keep HDR enable. if you give a comment from two log, we will ask it to SEC. Please check TV EDID information is different between case which is exit during checking TV source and setting UHD color. according to SEC qc engineer comment , TV are waiting for HDR full format for Setting UHD color. however, as exit before setting UHD Color, TV only know to receive HDR signal from STB. So It can show HDR Input on TV information. That is why we need to check EDID information for each case. first check each case. if you want to check two case with Same TV, We will give a log again. Hi Jason, Are both 2 log files for case1 ? The date of these 2 log files are different. hdmi_hotplug_finish_setting_UHD_Color: 2/17 hdmi hotplug_exit_before_UHD_Color: 2/14 |

hi kerwin yes. it tested with each different TV. but most of SEC TV is working as like hdmi hotplug_exit_before_UHD_Color.log. since most of SEC tv take a long time to detect a signal, it pushed exit button of TV rcu. but it don't need to push an exit button of TV rcu on UN43NU7150). since it took a short time to set for UHD Color. so our question is STB received a diffrent EDID Information from TV between push an exit button case and waiting for setting for UHD color to ? please focus on hdmi hotplug_exit_before_UHD_Color.log more. Thanks. |

Hi Jason, Could you explain "5. see AV. but STB menu is changed as Disabled HDR automatically." more detailed ? Does it mean HDR option is grayed out or it is set to SDR mode ? |
HI Kerwin as I talked as upper, it already set HDR enable in STB menu. when plug out/in HDMI Cable, user push exit or previous button of TV so don't setting UHD color on TV. STB menu is changed as disable HDR automatically and can't select in HDR option. "단, 보유하신 TV 설정에서 UHD 컬러 설정을'ON'시켜주세요" STB menu is messaged this information. according to exit RCU button of TV, TV can't be set for UHD Color. I heard after see upper screen shot on TV, It can set for UHD color on TV. so STB menu is changed as Disable HDR. But although it exit RCU button, TV info notice HDR signal. but STB menu is shown as disable HDR. So we wonder TV EDID info cast to STB as differ between Set UHD color on TV and exit in the middle |

Hi Jason, From "hotplug_exit_before_UHD_Color.log", we see STB receive 2 different EDID from TV. The main difference is in supported color formats. One of these 2 EDIDs support "2160p60hz420,10bit". TVS use VendorInterface API to check if TV support "HDRTVWCG" or not. Then TVS update system property 'HDR_SUPPORT' as false. I think this is why HDR is disabled. Those VendorInterface API are requested from TVS and TVS work with AML directly. I am not sure the logic how TVS use these APIs to check HDR supported or not. You can see the log below: ======================== Without WCG support ================================= 02-14 12:58:54.952 4018 4802 D TVSettingsAdapterJni: getHDRTVWCGSetting() result:false 02-14 12:58:54.952 4162 5421 I TVSManager: HDRTVWCG is false 02-14 12:58:54.954 4162 5421 D STBAPIManager: getProperty() key : HDR_SUPPORT, result : true 02-14 12:58:54.954 4162 5421 I TVSManager: getHDRTVSupported setHDRTVSupport is not same 02-14 12:58:54.959 4018 4802 D TVSystemAdapterBase: setProperty(HDR_SUPPORT, false) 02-14 12:58:54.965 4018 4802 D TVSystemPropertiesHandler: setProperty start : HDR_SUPPORT, false 02-14 12:58:54.978 4018 4802 D TVSystemPropertiesHandler: setProperty end : HDR_SUPPORT, false ======================== With WCG support ================================= 02-14 12:59:07.145 4018 4036 D TVSettingsAdapterJni: getHDRTVWCGSetting() result:true 02-14 12:59:07.145 4162 5421 I TVSManager: HDRTVWCG is true 02-14 12:59:07.146 4162 5421 D STBAPIManager: getProperty() key : HDR_SUPPORT, result : false 02-14 12:59:07.146 4162 5421 I TVSManager: getHDRTVSupported setHDRTVSupport is not same 02-14 12:59:07.146 4018 4036 D TVSystemAdapterBase: setProperty(HDR_SUPPORT, true) 02-14 12:59:07.146 4018 4036 D TVSystemPropertiesHandler: setProperty start : HDR_SUPPORT, true 02-14 12:59:07.161 4018 4036 D TVSystemPropertiesHandler: setProperty end : HDR_SUPPORT, true |

Hi kerwin Thanks to your comment. I will ask it to TVS. I have one question. according to your explanation, after see HDMI plugin in testing procedure , it have to find 'getHDRTWCGSetting'. but it don't match up order. it can find two case(getHDRTVWCGSetting : true, false) in an attached log. so please explain it again. if need it ,you also ask it to AML. Thanks. |
Hi Jason, "it can find two case(getHDRTVWCGSetting : true, false) in an attached log." ===> because STB receives different EDID, one supports WCG and another doesn't. But I don't know the order. It depends on when you start to capture log by USB storage. |

HI Kerwin VendorInterface API just jurge EDID from TV. so TVS can't do anything about this agenda. so it is related to TV sw mechanism. this agenda is closed. Thanks |
